Sports, Arts, and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa acknowledged Zahara’s passing and offered her family and the South African music industry her sincere condolences. Her death is a great loss for the country and the African music industry as a whole.

With the release of her 2011 album “Loliwe,” Zahara shot to stardom and became well-known throughout Africa. She received multiple prizes and distinctions, including 17 South African Music prizes, three Metro FM awards, and a Nigeria Entertainment award, for her music, which was marked by emotional depth and honesty that connected with a broad audience. She was recognized for her talents to music and her campaign against violence against women in 2020 when she was listed among the BBC’s 100 Women.

Zahara had some difficulties on her voyage. She shared her story of struggle with alcoholism in 2019, displaying both her strength and fragility. Despite these difficulties, she never stopped inspiring people with her music and her commitment to helping those in need.

Following her death, fans, fellow artists, and public personalities have showered her with tributes. Condolence messages have been pouring in on social media, with many expressing shock and sadness at her abrupt departure. “She did a lot for the music industry in South Africa – paving the way for so many others with her iconic presence and guitar in hand,” singer-songwriter Lady Zamar tweeted. We shall miss her.

In a statement, Zahara’s family expressed gratitude to the public for their support and requested privacy during this trying time. They had previously addressed health rumors, stressing the importance of truthful information and maintaining their privacy.

Through her music, Zahara’s legacy endures even as South Africa and the rest of the world grieve the death of this amazing singer. Future generations will continue to be healed and inspired by her songs, which combine moving sentiments with enthralling melody. We shall never forget Zahara’s influence on the music business or her function as a voice for the voiceless.
