Due to social media users’ harsh criticism, media star Sonia Mbele has been called upon to settle any outstanding bills she may have with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Mbele claims to have been a multimillionaire in her 20s.
The single mother asserted in a video that is circulating on the internet that she had multiple brand endorsements to help her reach her first million dollars. She continued by enumerating a few of them.
In her own words, “I was a multi-millionaire in my 20s. I was the first face of Dark n Lovely, the first face of Lux, the first face of Ponds, the first face of Sun Silk and the first face of City Power. I had 90 TV commercials locally and internationally. I became a millionaire in my 20s.”
She added that she schooled herself into the lifestyle she still enjoys today by purchasing her first Louis Vuitton purse on her own.

Normally, people who are supporting her would be proud of this, and they were. Her detractors, however, were unimpressed and brought up a previous article about her owing the SARS, demanding that she reimburse them if, as she said, she is a millionaire.
To be fair, there are a number of accounts indicating that she settled the tax obligation prior to the video tape being viral.
