At the very least, one has to respect South African rapper Saudi’s candor. He always displays this side of himself, as evidenced by the question posed to him lately about whether or not he would have included AKA in his most recent album, “Msotra Don’t Die.”

Saudi made it apparent that Emtee and Sjava were the only persons he wanted as features on the project, while most people would have said “straight” yes in order to avoid offending anyone. But he also mentioned how much AKA would have cherished the project.

He revealed this in a Twitter reply to a follower who posed the query to him. Though it’s unclear why he restricted his feature selection to Emtee and Sjava alone, all three of them—Saudi, Emtee, and Sjava—have collaborated and shared a history.

For example, all three had previously been contracted to the most contentious musical label in South Africa, Ambitiouz Entertainment. But while Sjava appeared to depart amicably and without incident, Saudi and Emtee—at distinct times, naturally—left after a brawl. In the end, Saudi decided to drop the record label with an EP called “FucK Ambitiouz.”

Of course, life continues.
