Rihanna Picks Tyler ICU’s “Mnike” As Her Song Of The Year 2023

One thing about being a musician is that you never know who is listening to your music. The audience is likely to be diverse, ranging from the lowly to the powerful. And you might not be aware of some of them until you discuss them. And when they happen to be well-known personalities in pop culture, the sense of accomplishment is palpable.

Tyler ICU, a South African singer and producer, is currently living in this reality after receiving an endorsement for his creative muscles from none other than the Barbadian artist and entrepreneur Rihanna.

During a December 18 interview with Complex, Rihanna accepted several questions and answered them, including a list of her favorite songs of the year. She named Davido’s “Unavailable;e” and Tyler ICU’s “Mnike” as her favorite songs of the year.

That was a major deal for Tyler ICU, who had no idea Rihanna recognized him or even knew his music. He is grateful for her recognition and looks forward to putting more effort into his music in the future. South Africans were as happy for him.

That’s not unexpected given the caliber of the individual who likes Tyler ICU’s song.
