Is there good news on the horizon for South African musicians, particularly those who are signed to record labels or are interested in signing to one? The response from local artist Priddy Ugly is a resounding yes.

Maybe he should know, being one of the esteemed voices in South African music. The “EGYPY” crooner recently tweeted that he and his attorneys had been reviewing his record label contracts for the past ten years.

He claims that the discoveries they have made thus far are really startling and will completely transform the sector. Warmth and asceticism were expressed in response to his message; others questioned whether what he had learned would actually transform the industry, which they see as controlled by businesses more concerned with their own interests than the well-being of artists. Check out the post that’s below.

In any case, Priddy Ugly has stopped thinking. Now, everyone is watching him to see what he and his lawyers will ultimately expose and the effect these revelations will have on the industry. Naturally, we are keeping an eye on this and will provide you with updates as they become available. Pay attention.
