Grammy winner and other celebrities from South Africa, Black Coffee, have come under fire for traveling to Israel.

Renowned South African DJ and Grammy winner made news a few years ago when he traveled to Israel. Recent reports state that South Africa requested, in an application submitted to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), that Israel stop firing into Gaza.

However, because they have a history of visiting South Africa, a few well-known celebrities there have chosen to ignore the news. Black Coffee is one of them; he was criticized in 2018 for visiting the place. The X app has recently been used by social media users to remind everyone of the celebrities who have visited the “Apartheid State.”

In 2018, Black Coffee responded to criticism directed at his Tel Aviv performance with a clap. Even after taking a beating, Anele Mdoda responded. It’s gorgeous, Israel, she wrote. Please do not publish your political gibberish on my page. I’m not claiming this place has nice politics. The land is gorgeous, I say. Please be mindful of my page and my viewpoints.

Lalela Mswane, the former Miss SA, drew criticism as well for going to the Miss Universe contest in Eilat, Israel, in 2021. Mandla Mandela, Zakes Bantwini, Shashi Naidoo, and several others are among the others.
